He's Just a Happy Guy!

4 Months!

Jack turned 4 months old on January, 20th and had his checkup on the 24th.  

Weight: 14lbs  50%

Length: 25 1/2"  75%

Head: 16 1/2"  50%

Jack is doing really well, and other than a cold, cough, and some congestion he's healthy.  

A few Jack bullets

• If asked to "stretch" he will raise his arms above his head...this will soon be transitioned to "touchdown"
• When you ask for a kiss, he opens his mouth as you go in for a smooch
• Is very comfortable in his exersaucer.
• Reaches for and picks-up toys.
• Laughs at his reflection in the mirror.
• Tries to put everything in his mouth and DROOLS.  Seriously, people, he's a saliva fountain.  
• Sleeps through most nights, and when he does wake he soothes himself back to sleep.
• Spent his first night in Madison.
• Spent his first night in a hotel.
• Had his second babysitters.  Thanks Grandma Mary and Grandpa Roger.
• Follows voices and people as they move.
• His first season cheering on the Packers has lead the team to a Super Bowl berth. 
• LOVES "playing" with his friends at daycare. 

Lazy weekend mornings...

....are usually filled with lots of lounging and giggling. Here is a little sneak peak into the best entertainment Nathaniel and I have ever seen.

Auntie Bon got Jack the cutest little outfit for Christmas. This picture gives us a glimpse of what summer vacation may be like for Nathaniel and Jack!

Jack very much enjoyed himself as we placed him in a laundry basket with lots of balls. He tried and tried and tried to eat them. It was hilarious!

He Has Tricks!

Every time Jack wakes up, he loves to stretch his arms above his head. We also stretch our arms with him and say "stretch" while grunting. Jack just loves to stretch out. Last week, his arms were down, and as I said "stretch," he slowly raised his arms, as if he were following a suggestion. We were not positive, but today he confirmed the he knew what we were saying. During random times of the day, instead of raising our arms ourselves, we just would say "stretch" and he would raise his arms above his heads.
It just fills us with joy to see him growing and learning and understanding what we are saying. We will post a picture once we get one!

Baby Mullet

Jack has been working very hard on his bald spot/mullet. At one point, it was actually baby butt soft. As you can see, he has a great patch of hair right below which accentuates the bald spot.  Now, his hair is growing back a little bit, but make no mistake, it is still there!

Don't want to forget

This clip may not be that exciting, but I just had to make a small video of Jack just lounging around. He is growing up so quickly, and I don't want to ever forget how sweet and content he is, laying around and just taking the world in. I also think it is so cute how he is laying. I know that I will look back at this clip in a couple of years (OK, maybe even a couple of months) and wonder where time went.

Sense of Humor

Jack's got it! He has been kind of chuckling for weeks now, but here is a clip of him really giggling. I.just.love.it. The picture itself is not great, because the moment he sees the camera, he stops doing what we are trying to catch. But, the sound is the important part!

Jack's 1st Day of School

Monday was Jack's first day of school.  He had a great day...Liz and I struggled.  There's just not much that is as rewarding as his little smiles and laughs.  Here's a picture from the drop-off.
