Momma's New Favorite Sounds

Until recently (umm, 5 weeks and 6 days to be exact), my favorite sound was rain. Rain on the windows, rain on the pavement. However, as soothing as rain sounds, it is nothing compared to the sounds our little man makes when eating...he makes the same noises when nursing, too. I just melt when I hear it.
I could not figure out how to flip the film, but the sounds are all that matter. Also, you may hear toot in there...Jack is notorious for tooting while eating. It cracks us up, and in a weird way, melts my heart too!

More Cuddle Buddies

Jack (16 hours old) and Aunt Chantal

Jack (6 days old), Aunt Cassandra, and the FTC's (Flottum Twin Cousins-in Auntie's belly!)

Jack (1 month, 3 days old) and Uncle Chris-Cross

Jack is lucky to have 4 uncles and 4 aunts. He has not had the chance to cuddle up with all of them yet, since many live far away, but here are some pictures of him getting to know two of poppie's sisters and one of momma's brothers. He also met Aunt Jazz, but we forgot to take a picture:(
He is super excited to meet all of the other aunties and uncles.

Jack and his God Father

Last week Jack got to meet his God Father, Rambod, for the first time. He has heard Poppie talk about Rambod tons, so he was happy to finally get a chance to get his cuddle on with him. On the car ride home, Jack could not stop talking about all of the "three dude" adventures that he plans to go on with Poppie and Rambod.

Family of Three

One month and three days old

Mesmerized by the little man

Yummy fingers

Can't stop staring at him.

Another sighting!

Jack is at it again. Today, when momma was holding Jack, she was doing squats. Well, Jack loved this, because he busted out two smiles. Needless to say, I was doing squats another 5 minutes just for another sighting, but no such luck. However, I will do squats all day long if I have to, in order to see that beautiful smile again!

Jack + Grandparents= Love

Jack (9 hrs old) and Grandma

Jack (1 day), Grandma Mary and Grandpa Roger

Jack (4 days) and Opa
Jack (16 hours) and Omi

Jack (4 weeks) and Grandpa Phillips

Happy Halloween!

The cutest "Jack"-o-lantern ever.

No momma! Don't eat my candy!

What can I say? When you're cute, your cute!

Thanks Grandma Mary for this soft and fuzzy costume. It was the perfect size. Another week or two, and this long fella may not have fit into it!

Momma's little Book Worms

Looks like we have another book worm in the family. Jack has just started to be mesmerized by pictures in books. Poppie was reading to Jack for a good 10 minutes, and Jack was interested the entire time!

There has been a sighting...

Of Jack's first awake smile!!! We have been waiting 5 weeks and 3 days for this beautiful event.
Poppie saw it today when Jack was on the changing table and they were just chatting. Momma is quite jealous and can't wait to see it herself :)
We will of course post a picture as soon as we get it on film.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

Our new favorite past time is watching Jack sleep. He is just so precious, we can't help ourselves. We love the little mouth movements he makes, and are especially excited when he smiles for us in his sleep. He also does this funny thing with his eyes where he goes through REM cycles with his eyes open a bit. At times, it is hard to tell if he is sleeping or awake. He really is such a good sleeper. About 80% of the time he falls asleep on his own once we put him in his crib. It has become his new favorite place. He just discovered his Bucky mobile, and he loves to stare at his red and white striped jersey and black pants. He also just loves staring at the shadows that his crib sides make. I am dreading the day when he can see far enough to know we are in his room, because that means our staring days will be done!

The Packer's Cutest new Fan

Stay tuned for more cute Packer outfits, thanks to Uncle Chris-Cross. The way he is growing, he will be wearing them in no time!

Who is dressing Jack?

Jack has been getting spoiled by his uncles. Thanks to Unky Rob for this cute Ralph Lauren outfit. It is size 3 months, but it looks like he does not have much more room in it! And Uncle Chris Cross has made sure that Jack stays in the Halloween spirit with this cute "Jack"-o-lantern socks.

Cousins

Last week Jack and I made a road trip to meet Mindy and Genevieve. She is only 5 weeks older than Jack, but it is incredible how much bigger she looks next to Jack. Jack is passed out from a Pumpkin shake coma, while Genevieve is on a sugar high from her Pumpkin shake. Jack can't wait to play with her again!

One Month Old

It is hard to believe that Jack has been with us a month already. Although, in a weird way, it seems like he has been with us so much longer! We have been loving seeing his personality come through. He smiles all of the time in his sleep, but we have not yet seen him smile on purpose. We think it is close, because we see him smiling with his eyes tons. Jack loves to do arm exercises with Nathaniel-this is when we see his eyes smiling the most. He is starting to sleep longer periods at night. We have had several nights where he goes 5 hours between feeds-we can't lie-the extra sleep is quite nice. Also, there is no doubt that he is his momma's son-he LOVES baths. It is so funny, because the moment his skin touches the water, he becomes so still, and he makes these cute little expressions with his mouth.  He also loves getting his diaper changed-who knows what it is, but he calms down once he gets on the changing table. To mark his one month birthday, Jack and momma went on a mile run. Whew, it has been a busy month for Jack!

Here are his first month pictures. You may have noticed that the bibs are quite large on him. They are size 6-12 months. We thought it would be fun to put him in them every month so we can really see how much he has grown month to month.

Jack and Maggie

Here is a picture of Jack meeting his Godmother Maggie for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Even though he slept the entire time, we could tell that he LOVED her! This is the first of many wonderful moments together.

10 little piggies

Here are the adorable foot prints that were taken the day after Jack was born. We just love his little feet and toes...they are actually quite long, but you can't really tell in this photo. We will have to post pictures of those yummy toes later!

30 years later

The week that Nathaniel went back to work, my mom and brother Chris stopped up for a visit. It was so wonderful to have my mom take care of her baby, while I was taking care of our baby. She cleaned and cooked many yummy meals (much needed!). She also brought these flowers for us-they were in the same tea cup that my dad brought her flowers in when she was in the hospital delivering me. I love that she saved it all of these years-I can't wait to continue the tradition.

Jack's first real bath at home

Since Jack finally lost the second stage of his umbilical cord, we were able to give him his first real bath yesterday. Just like we thought-he.loved.it. He was just so calm and relaxed-like he was in heaven. He is definitely his momma's son!
