Jack definitely has a little bit of his momma in him. When I was little, it was not uncommon for me to be singing or doing headstands when I was supposed to be sleeping. We have not seen any head stands yet, but it would not surprise me one day to see our little evil kanevil doing that!
Here is some video of him during his nap time. You can't really see him, because I did not want to get busted. However, he has his legs up on the side of the crib.
He always ends up falling asleep, but he has lots of things he needs to get off his chest before he does so!
But you want to, right? You've come to THE place. We'll chronicle the smiles, laughs, stories and joy that are Jack. Welcome!

Spring walks
We have been enjoying the nice(r) weather lately. Jack loves to listen to the birds, watch the dogs that go by, and just sit back and relax. He also loves to be a "big boy" and ride on Nathaniel's shoulders.
I love this picture of my two boys. Aren't they adorable?
That's ME!
We love these videos of Jack watching himself in the exersaucer (the videos from the previous post). We don't let him watch TV, so I am sure he thinks this is just so cool.
It is so precious how he is entertained by himself!

Listen people!
Jack is the master of his exersaucer. He can spend a long time in there, jumping around, playing with the toys, and looking out the window. He also likes to use this time to share his words of wisdom with us. Here is some advice that he has for you.

Go-Go-Go
Jack has a little motor on him that is always stuck in drive (unless he's sick or exhausted). We aren't able to take as many "usable" pictures due to his constant movement. However, just to give you a taste of our world, we'll post pictures from a little 5 second snippet during the 7 month photo shoot. Oh, forgot to mention...all this with a double ear infection. Love this boy!

Happy 1st Mother's Day
Momma-
Happy 1st Mother's Day! I ADORE you! I see, with my big blue eyes, all of the things you do for me and I feel so loved and cherished. I have the most loving, caring and compassionate mom. I'm not yet able to vocalize just how much I love you, but I thought a few pictures of me lovingly gazing at you would work for now. I am so blessed that I'm able to learn to love from you.
Love,
-Jack

Love
Whatch ya talkin' about?
So silly
Omi stopped by to celebrate Jack's 6 month birthday in March. He definitely enjoyed getting his cuddle on.
And, a couple days later, Grandma Mary came and visited for a couple of days. Jack enjoyed playing hooky from school with her. Sadly, we were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures. Jack is just so lucky to have all of his grandparents to love up on him
.
March's Centering Reunion
Jack and Asher, holding hands.
In March, we had a reunion with our midwife centering group. Jack was a couple days short of 6 months here.We feel so lucky to have had the chance to go through the awesome experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting with such a great group of people.
We missed everyone who could not attend!
Blast from the past-Jack's first time eating solids
Here is the video clip of Jack eating solids for the first time. We started him on oatmeal a week before he turned 6 months. He definitely was ready for it! All of the time he put into studying us eat definitely paid off.
First Finger Foods
Just this past week Jack tried his first finger foods. We gave them to him, not really knowing what he would do. He surprised us by getting a couple in his mouth. His pincher grasp is still a little weak-he kind of plams it and then brings in the treat with all of his fingers. Such a big boy!
I cannot believe that we have a baby eating finger food! How is this possible?
Jack is super excited to try the teething biscuits Grandma Mary made for him-we are just waiting to introduce wheat into his diet. We are pretty confident he is going to LOVE them!
