Our little Veggie Lover

Yep, that is a raw broccoli head that Jack is munching on. We have joined a CSA, and Jack could not contain his excitement the week we got broccoli (probably his favorite food). He couldn't wait for me to wash it off for him-he grabbed it from the box and started chowing down.

Holy Hill with Maggie and Matt

 Jack's God momma Maggie and her hubby Matt live a very exciting life. Since Matt works for the State Department, they get to live in a new country every two years. Their first assignment together is Ecuador, which coincidentally is where Maggie and I met for the first time.

We had a little farewell get together at Holy Hill right before they left. Lots of laughs were shared, and Jack still talks about Matt and Maggie at Holy Hill any time he sees a church that has a steeple like Holy Hill. In addition, he likes to show us how Maggie taught us to fight a wolf off, in the likely  (or not so likely :) event that we ever come face to face with one!

Takin' care of his Momma

Sigh. I cannot stop smiling thinking about how sweet Jack is. Today he and I went to Auntie Chantal's baby shower. While Chantal was opening gifts, Jack wanted to sit on a folding chair, and I sat on the ground beside him. He began to play with my hair, so I rested my head on his little lap. There we sat, for at least 3 minutes, with him patting my head and playing with my hair as I rested on his lap. Our sweet little son, taking care of his momma. I felt like he had aged decades in that moment. It was so darn wonderful. I will cherish that moment forever.
